CHINA, April 15, 2026 — The "Better Sleep, Better World" China Online Symposium was held on April 15, 2026. Focused on four core sectors of sleep health—physical intervention, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) conditioning, precision nutrition, and TCM monitoring—the event brought together top industry practitioners to explore opportunities in China’s sleep health industry, drive innovation, and promote evidence-based sleep solutions for the public.
Hosted by World Sleep Center (HK) and supported by WorldSleep, the 2.5-hour online session showcased cutting-edge technologies and practical applications, building a collaborative platform for industry exchange and public education.
Against the backdrop of rapid modernization, sleep health has become a major public health concern. The 2025 China Sleep Health Survey Report shows that 48.5% of adults aged 18 and above in mainland China experience sleep difficulties, while the rate among people aged 65 and older reaches 73.7%. The symposium was designed to address these growing public needs and chart the future of the sleep wellness sector.
WST-I Integrated Sleep Health System Unveiled
Mr. Zhang Guangzhao, CEO of WorldSleep, opened the forum with an in-depth introduction to the WST-I Integrated Sleep Health System. Grounded in evidence-based CBT-I, the system integrates the 3H principles—Health, Harmony, and Humanity—and features a three-tier structure of theory, practice, and talent development. It creates a collaborative ecosystem of industry, academia, research, hospitals, and services, offering a framework for the standardized development of non-medical sleep health in China.
Insights from Four Core Sleep Health Sectors
Physical Intervention
Mr. Wang Ruoji presented applications of monopolar spatial bioelectric field technology. The 50Hz low-frequency electric field activates water molecules, providing an innovative physical approach to sleep improvement.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Conditioning
Ms. Mao Wenqian shared a TCM mind-body synchronization sleep program. Drawing on classic formulas such as Suanzaoren Decoction and Zhizichi Decoction, the solution combines TCM-based products, AI emotional health management, cognitive training, and music therapy to support holistic wellness.
Precision Nutrition
Ms. Huang Minming presented evidence-based practices linking precision nutrition to sleep. Addressing melatonin, GABA, serotonin, and the HPA axis, she explained connections between insomnia, neurotransmitters, stress, and metabolism. She proposed a 5-dimensional model: diet, exercise, light exposure, psychological health, and nutritional supplementation—using tryptophan, magnesium, vitamin B6, and other nutrients for personalized sleep support.
TCM Monitoring
Mr. Yuan Tianshu introduced the fusion of ancient TCM wisdom and modern technology. Based on Huangdi Neijing (The Yellow Emperor’s Internal Classic), Mr. Yuan’s team has digitized the TCM Zang-Xiang theory into quantifiable health indicators. AI-driven visualization enables objective sleep assessment, bringing traditional wellness practices into the digital era.
Interactive Session and Industry Outlook
A live Q&A session encouraged dynamic discussions on sleep intervention technologies, commercial implementation, and personal health strategies. Attendees included industry professionals, researchers, nutritionists, and health-conscious consumers, who praised the practical, actionable insights.
The symposium delivered diverse, science-backed pathways for sleep health in China and strengthened cross-sector collaboration among physical therapy, TCM, nutrition, and technology. It supported the continued standardization and sustainable growth of the global sleep wellness industry.
Moving forward, WorldSleep will continue to build on the WST-I framework, connect global resources, and advance non-medical sleep health worldwide. By partnering with international stakeholders to establish standards and share achievements, the organization aims to expand access to evidence-based sleep solutions and help more people enjoy healthier sleep and better lives.
